Everything is Weaved Together

At Heartful Rootz, we are an accessible, Indigenous-led collective dedicated to empowering Black, Indigenous, People of the Global Majority, and LGBTQIA2S+ communities through programs that honor cultural reclamation, holistic well-being, and Earth stewardship.

We believe everything is interconnected—people, land, water, plants, animals, and the unseen forces that sustain life. Our work grows from this web of life, where the center roots in the healing power of herbs and plants, and branches into the arts, storytelling, and creation—through ceramics, weaving, song healing circles, indigenized education, and the nourishment of food and community.

Through our evolving vision of a community land trust, each Heartful Rootz home base becomes a sanctuary—where humans and animals live in harmony, where salmon, pollinators, and wild kin are honored as partners in healing, and where art, food, and herbal medicine sustain both spirit and body.

Upholding our belief that the deepest act of love begins with the heart, we guide collective journeys back to ancestral knowing, kinship with the Earth, and shared stewardship for generations to come.

BIPGM Youth First-Time Jobs

At Heartful Rootz, we believe in building more than just jobs—we build mindsets. Our goal is to help BIPGM youth shift from an hourly-based work model toward project-based learning and creative entrepreneurship. We’re teaching our youth how to see their time and skills as valuable assets—not as part of a system that limits them, but as stepping stones to independence and freedom.

Through our program, youth learn how to start their own businesses, become contractors or freelancers, and handle important life skills like filing taxes and managing projects. We also focus on maintaining balance—encouraging a healthy mix of physical work, creative expression, and rest. Not every path is the same; even those working other jobs can explore their purpose part-time, nurturing their craft while honoring their wellbeing.

This program is more than work experience—it’s a movement toward empowerment, balance, and sustainable community leadership.

We believe in treating all with respect and dignity, and we strictly prohibit discrimination in all aspects of our operations, programs, and activities.
