Greetings and Thank You for Your Participation with Heartful Rootz.
At Heartful Rootz, we are dedicated to being an accessible, inclusive Queer Two Spirit Indigenous -led community that centers on the conscious overcoming of injustice, unity, and evolution. Our mission includes a commitment to providing radically progressive support for community building, makers, farmers, artists, staff, and volunteers who seek to co-conspire with us in our pursuit of collective liberation while prioritizing Queer, Trans, Two-Spirit Indigenous wellness and care.
In opposition to the status quo, we understand that our deepest act of love for one another begins with the heart; the part of ourselves that yearns to uproot the effects of colonialism and imperialism to return to our roots as care-holders and stewards of this earth.
We are dedicated to authentically connecting with our communities, providing safe, affirming, and supportive networks that promote growth, renewal, and revival. By emphasizing our QT2S-BIPGM identities as the face and foundation of our collective endeavors, we reinforce the understanding that we can exist and thrive within a construct that was designed to diminish our significance. Our forward-facing presence speaks truth to power, demonstrating that we are not only reclaiming our love for our cultures but also embracing the virtues of others in profound and magnificent ways.
In future collaborations, we encourage you to bring a volunteer who will enhance the experience of QT2S-BIPGM-led and emphasized spaces. We also urge you to have crucial conversations with your non-QT2S-BIPGM connections so they understand that supporting you may require stepping back to let you shine. While we recognize that these conversations may be uncomfortable or challenging at times, we believe that carving out a space for ourselves is essential. We hope that our allies and co-conspirators will appreciate the importance of us not only taking a seat at the table but also speaking for ourselves and leading in our aspirations.
